Our Government Experts
Working with the government sector has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career. I have great respect for the men and women who serve, and I’m proud to play a role in supporting their needs through the work we do.
Because we partner with people from many different backgrounds, communication is essential. With each project, my goal is to involve customers in the process so their vision becomes a reality.
Two projects stand out most: installing food kiosks at Fort Carson to provide options in a food desert, and contributing to the construction of Littoral Combat Ships and Expeditionary Fast Transport Ships at Austal. Knowing these ships house Navy sailors as they defend democracy gives me a strong sense of purpose.
One of the benefits I bring to my work in the government sector is my own 20 years of prior military experience. Having been in the service myself, I have the ability to identify with the unique issues involved with federal contracts surrounding procurement and acquisition.
For 15 years I have worked primarily in foodservice, but I also have experience in engineering and operations management, which helps me identify adequate replacement and design solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.
The projects I’m most proud of are the ones that make a difference to service members. The renovation at MCB Anderson, Fort Knox and Fort Riley dining facilities helped improve the meal experience for those serving our country and I’m grateful to be a part of that process.
Collaboration is the key to a successful project, which is something I’ve learned in over 30 years working in this industry.
I approach each new job with a fresh outlook and work to understand the clients’ needs to create a foodservice design that exceeds their expectations, as well as their customers’. Taking time to work on the details up front ensures we meet expectations and deliver on time and meet budget.
The projects I enjoy most are those we’re involved with from the very beginning. Having the opportunity to visit the site, see the existing facility, meet with the team, and recommend improvements—both operationally and aesthetically —is especially rewarding.
Working with government agencies, I deliver foodservice solutions that meet rigorous standards while enhancing efficiency and sustainability. My goal is to help our partners serve communities better through innovative, compliant, and cost-effective designs.
With 34+ years in the foodservice industry and CFSP I accreditation, I bring deep experience in strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, and turning complex requirements into practical, effective solutions.
A standout project was leading a comprehensive kitchen renovation for a federal facility, managing design and installation under strict security protocols and tight timelines. The result: a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient kitchen that streamlined operations and cut costs—showing how thoughtful design transforms performance.
