Chris Liesch
Being able to work with the government sector really means a lot to me. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the men and women who serve in the armed forces and government agencies, and now I have a career where I get to help provide for their needs.
Working with people from all parts of the world makes communication an important skill. With each project, my goal is to engage the customer in a way that makes them feel a part of the design. In the end, I’m there to make their vision a reality.
I’ve had the honor of working on many projects, but two really stand out to me. One was the installation of two kiosks at Fort Carson, that provided food options in what was a food desert. The second was the construction on the builds of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and the Expeditionary Fast Transport Ships (EPF) at Austal in Mobile, Ala. Knowing these ships house sailors in the U.S. Navy as the patrol the world defending democracy gives me a sense that our company is helping make a difference in the world.

One of the benefits I bring to my work in the government sector is my own 20 years of prior military experience. Having been in the service myself, I have the ability to identify with the unique issues involved with federal contracts surrounding procurement and acquisition.
For 15 years I have worked primarily in foodservice, but I also have experience in engineering and operations management, which helps me identify adequate replacement and design solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.
The projects I’m most proud of are the ones that make a difference to service members. The renovation at MCB Anderson, Fort Knox and Fort Riley dining facilities helped improve the meal experience for those serving our country and I’m grateful to be a part of that process.

Collaboration is the key to a successful project, which is something I’ve learned in over 30 years working in this industry. I approach each new job with a fresh outlook and work to understand the clients’ needs to create a foodservice design that exceeds the client’s expectations as well as their customers’. Taking time to work on the details up front ensures we meet expectations and deliver on time and meet budget.
I’ve enjoyed all the projects I’ve had a hand in, but one that will always stand out was the $1.6M renovation of the MCBH Anderson Hall, Kaneiohe, Oahu, Hawaii. Through partnering with a local general contractor, Hobart Service, our installer, and working with the client we were able to maintain foodservice operation during the 12-month remodeling process, while creating a beautiful new space with great food offerings for Marines who are based there.
